Hoi An’s Old Town Taps Into Folk Games to Attract Tourists

“Bai choi,” a popular folk game in Vietnam has become one of the latest tourist attractions in the Old Town of Hoi An, providing visitors a chance to not only enjoy viewing this traditional game, but participating in it as well. This game can be witnessed at the specially organised Hoi An Ancient Town Night which is held monthly, offering a wonderful chance to observe performances held outdoors by the Hoai River. Conducted by energetic hosts, Bai choi also includes elements of signing and reciting lines from folk songs or poems.
