Bali International Kite Festival 2019 Takes Flight – A Soaring Success!

A popular annual event, the Bali International Kite Festival once again featured a wide range of kites of all shapes and sizes which adorned the skies above the Indonesian island of Bali. Event venues to witness the variety of kites on display included Padanggalak Beach, within easy reach of resorts such as Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. The festival which began in July continued till October and had several competitions with both local and international teams participating.

As part of the Bali International Kite Festival 2019, teams competed for the “New Creation” prize as well as categories such as “longest flight” and “best design”. Initially part of an agrarian festival, this event has evolved to become a much-loved spectacle where visitors can see both traditional and innovative kites being flown accompanied by a gamelan orchestra.
