Despite Pandemic, Sri Lanka Secures Tourism Investments – Getting Back on Track

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Sri Lanka has received many tourism-related investment proposals and this was highlighted on the EconomyNext website on 10th August 2021; it went on to reveal that 38 projects totalling 102.3 million dollars have already been approved, while 64 projects are going through an evaluation process as well. According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), the country has acquired 950 million dollars of investments between March 2020 and June 2021.

This continues to show that the tourism industry in Sri Lanka is getting back on track with travellers from around the world being able to visit once more as well. Stringent protocols are also in place and initiatives include the SLTDA bestowing ‘Safe & Secure’ certification to properties like Cinnamon Bentota Beach; due to adopting effective health and sanitation measures such 5-star hotels in Bentota ensure guests have a safe stay on their holiday.
