The Maldives reopened its international travel boundaries in 2020 itself, and according to the latest reports, 2021 will bring in more numbers of tourists to the country. Maldives luxury resort options such as Finolhu Maldives are open for travellers now, and over 300 guesthouses have been granted permission to operate within the country.
The country started its vaccination program in February 2021, and the officials expect to cover everyone dealing in the travel and tourism sector through its initial stage. As per the current guidelines, travellers who fly to the Maldives should possess a negative PCR test result, and they should also agree to be subjected to a PCR test upon arrival. Every passenger leaving the country also will have to take a health check before departure.
