A renewed air connection opens fresh opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange

China Eastern Airlines has resumed direct services between Kolkata and Kunming, restoring an important travel link between India and China after flights recommenced on April 19, 2026. Operating six times a week with both Business and Economy Class options, the route is expected to improve connectivity for business travellers and holidaymakers alike.

The renewed service also offers smoother access to major Chinese destinations, including Shanghai and Beijing, while supporting growing economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Kunming, often admired for its pleasant weather and scenic surroundings, continues to attract travellers seeking unique experiences and memorable things to do in Kunming, from heritage districts to natural attractions.

Renowned hospitality and tourism brands, including Park Hotel Group, are set to welcome more regional travellers as connectivity between India and China improves.
