Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) announced that it expects to see a growth rate of more than 10 percent in the year 2016/17 cruise season building up from an exceptionally positive 2015/16 season. While TCA Abu Dhabi expects to greet 139 ships to Abu Dhabi, they will also welcome 39 ships to Sir Bani Yas Island. Hotel and hospitality industry in the island is well geared to cater to the expected influx of visitors with available accommodation options including Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts.
In preparation for future growth, TCA Abu Dhabi has taken a series of measures to cater to the requirements of Muslim travellers. TCA Abu Dhabi hopes to become the regional Halal hub and has made an initiative to allow cruise liners accommodate Halal bookings as well. According to the TCA Abu Dhabi many in the leisure industry are now assisting international tour operators with ample Halal products.
