Abu Dhabi Opens New Wetland Reserve and National Park – Conserving Natural Treasures

Under the auspices of the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD), not only have two wetland reserves been established, but a third is set to open as well. While the Mangrove National Park and Al Wathba Wetland Reserve already provide visitors a chance to view the region’s rich biodiversity, the third eco-reserve known as the Qasr Al Sarab Protected Area is set to give one a chance to learn more about the conservation efforts of indigenous species including the Arabian Oryx. The area is also home to some of the best luxury hotels Abu Dhabi has to offer such as Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara which makes an ideal base from which to head to such sites. At the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve one has the chance to view thousands of migrating greater flamingos, while also of note is the Mangrove National Park on the East Coast which features a mangrove forest and a variety of marine and bird life too
