Billed as the Middle East’s largest sustainability gathering, the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week or ADSW is set to take place yet again in January. This annual event which focuses on sustainable development and the proper use of natural resources will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 12th to 19th January 2019. ADSW will bring together some of leading names in the field of sustainability along with policymakers, industry specialists and pioneers in the field of technology. This year’s theme will be “Industry Convergence: Accelerating Sustainable Development” and will cover such aspects as climate change, biotechnology, energy, youth & digitalisation.
It is notable that sustainable practices and eco-friendly initiatives are being worked into both the public and private sectors including the hospitality field. Eco-conscious travellers in search of a luxury hotel Abu Dhabi has to offer can now choose from eco-friendly properties as well; examples include the likes of Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara which is a Green Growth 2050 certified gold property.
