As 2018 draws to a close, the UAE has seen some rather extreme weather fluctuations including the prevalence of storms which have caused disruptions including road closures and electricity outages. As reported recently by The National newspaper, torrential rain, thunder and lightning and high winds have been experienced in Dubai and Abu Dhabi causing the cancellation of certain events as well; one such casualty was a concert by global music sensation Dua Lipa who was set to perform at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Adverse weather conditions would no doubt have had an effect on tourist activities and travel during this period. However, the good news for those planning to stay at city hotels or Abu Dhabi luxury resorts the likes of Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara is that the forecast ahead is for sunnier weather.
