Abu Dhabi tourism targets luxury European market

There has been a 4% year-on-year increase in the influx of French visitors to the Emirates according to the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority although they did assure the public that Europe was a “hugely important source market” for luxury holidays and highlight Abu Dhabi’s leisure offerings for European holidayers to stay longer and spend more in places such as Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara, a sought after Sir Bani Yas Hotel that is infamous and iconic.
Last month, the annual International Luxury Travel Market in Cannes, France saw chief Abu Dhabi hotels Park Hyatt, Anantara, St Regis Abu Dhabi and Jannah Hotels and Resorts joining forces with the TCA to assess the eligibility of the UAE to draw in strictly-five-star guests. On the delegation panel too was UAE’’s flag-carrier Etihad Airways as well as important tour operators and destination management companies in the region. Jannah Hotels and Resorts focused on their latest project- the Jannah Burj Al Sarab and Gulf getaway Anantara attempted to boost its share of the outbound market by showcasing its five lavish resorts. David Garner of Minor Group declared in advance that the Travel Market’s aim was to target luxury tour operators around the world and so the event at Cannes included an overnight trip into the desert organized by SNTTA Emir Tours.
