The Louvre Abu Dhabi finally opened on November 11th, almost a decade since its inception. Designed by Jean Nouvel, the museum is a masterpiece adopting a medina-like space that complements well with the climate of the Middle East and the unique landscape. Inside the museum, in one the most spectacular engineering feat, 7,850 steel stars were created to allow natural sunlight into the Louvre offering an open-air plaza of sorts called the “Rain of Light”. The Louvre Abu Dhabi is open from 10am to 8pm only Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and from 10am to 10pm on Thursday and Friday. Admission to the beautiful, floating museum is set at 60 dirhams for adults. Children under the age of 13 get free entrance. Visitors to the emirate have the option to stay at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara or any other 5 star hotels in Abu Dhabi located in proximity to the museum.
