As part of an initiative to raise awareness on breast cancer, three properties of Anantara in the Maldives hosted the first ever Anantara Mini Triathlon. The event which took place on 29th October 2017 also helped to raise funds for the Cancer Society of Maldives. The 36 participants who took part in this competition had to take on a course which featured running two laps around Naladhu Private Island Maldives and Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, swimming across a lagoon to Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort and cycling around the island three times.
While the eventual winner managed to complete the course in 24 minutes, the whole event had a fun family feel to it with children joining on bicycles as well. The Anantara Mini Triathlon ended on the beach where an awards ceremony and cocktail party were held, which included a message of thanks given by Juwairiya Saeed, the Chairperson of the Cancer Society of Maldives.
