Being the second oldest continental football tournament in the world, this year’s AFC (Asian football confederation) Champions trophy was won by Qatar. They became the champions by defeating four-time champion Japan. The championship held in the UAE commencing on the 5th of January and ended on the 1st February with the final tournament and the closing ceremony. This year’s event was the 17th edition of the tournament and it included the team of 24 nations which battled to win the trophy. Thousands of football enthusiasts flocked at this the stadiums which hosted the games. Reports also state the tourists who were stationed at accommodation options the likes of Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort which is a resort in Abu Dhabi also visited the games with much enthusiasm.
