On 21st June 2023, Air Seychelles landed in Sri Lanka on its first direct flight to the country. This inaugural flight launched a new service between the two nations which is offering travellers from Seychelles an easy way to access this popular island nation. Such tourists have plenty of experiences to enjoy and things to see in Sri Lanka at diverse destinations which can be discovered on specialised trips organised by tour operators like Ceylon Tours. The inaugural flight on an Airbus A320neo aircraft was followed by special cultural dance performances and a ceremony for passengers. To further promote the destination, Sri Lanka Tourism organised two familiarisation tours for media and trade partners from not only Seychelles but South Africa too.

Meanwhile, Arkia, an Israeli airline is scheduled to begin the first nonstop service between Israel and Sri Lanka, slated to commence from 31st October 2023. This service will feature flights via an Airbus A321neo aircraft and will fly twice weekly to the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo from the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
