AirAsia aids in making the places in Thailand more accessible to those who wish to travel. The airline now flies to Phuket directly from Penang. From July 1st, flights taking the Phuket route will operate daily. It is believed that the frequent flights to Phuket will bring about benefits to both countries.

Spencer Lee, the AirAsia Malaysia Commercial Head states that the convenient location of Penang has made it convenient for travel be it inbound or outbound travel. He also says that the flights will result in an increase in levels of tourism in both Penang and Phuket. Accommodation options such as Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas which is a Phuket resort are sure to see an increase in the number of bookings. This is due to the stunning beaches, fantastic viewpoints and activities that Phuket has to offer.
