China continues to dominate as the primary source of tourist arrivals in the Maldives, according to the Ministry of Tourism’s latest report. With 58,912 arrivals by March 13, China has succeeded in surpassing competitors like Russia and Italy. The rankings have seen a whirlwind of changes, signaling the competitive landscape of Maldives’ tourism. Despite this, the Maldives has witnessed a 14 percent increase in arrivals compared to last year, welcoming a total of 488,952 tourists. Minister Ibrahim Faisal remains optimistic about surpassing this year’s arrival targets, as the Maldives celebrates 50 years of enchanting visitors with its natural beauty and luxurious hospitality. Many hotels and resorts, such as Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, which is also a luxury resort in the Maldives have played a significant role in this surge — offering exceptional services and unforgettable experiences to travellers.
