An increase in Travel and Tourism lead to an increase in jobs – More employment opportunities in the UAE

The travel and tourism industry in the UAE is experiencing continued growth, with an estimated 7,000 new hires expected this year. This marks the third consecutive year of workforce expansion, with airlines leading the way and major hotel operators following suit. The opening of new hotels similar to Anantara World Islands Dubai throughout the year will contribute to the creation of additional jobs plus accommodation for travellers seeking a beach villa in Dubai. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council, the sector is projected to employ 758,000 workers in 2023, with an increase of 89,320 jobs recorded in 2022.

The sector’s contribution to the UAE economy is set to reach Dh180.6 billion this year, representing nearly 10% of the GDP. The recovery of the sector, pushed by increased investments in hotels, travel and tourism spending, and government-private sector initiatives, has played a significant role in job creation across various segments, including hotels, aviation, airports, airlines, cruise lines, and online travel agencies. The industry has already surpassed its pre-pandemic employment levels in 2019.
