An Informal Art Coalition for 2022 – The Rise of Art 2022

Even art has been at a standstill because of the pandemic that hit the world including Sri Lanka. The art community on the island found themselves unable to display or properly work on their pieces during the past two years. But this year, there is hope as six independent organisations come together to bring the work of Sri Lankan artists back to life.

The six contemporary art organisations include Colomboscope by contemporary interdisciplinary art festival and creative platform, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Geoffrey Bawa Trust, Kala Pola by George Keyt Foundation and John Keells Foundation, Barefoot Gallery Colombo, and Saskia Fernando Gallery. There are a series of events prearranged for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. If you happen to be in Sri Lanka for any of these events, Sri Lankan Art Gallery is worth a visit as well.
