On the 24th of November 2014, Anantara Maldives donated a cheque worth US$10,000 to the Home for Special Needs at Kaafu Guraidhoo. The donation was raised through the participation of Torsten Richter, Cluster General Manager, in a special Iron Man competition. A ceremony was held to mark this significant gesture and addressing the participants, Iruthisham Adam, the Deputy Minister of Law and Gender highlighted the need for awareness raising to ensure the protection of psychiatric patients and the elderly.
