Anantara Kihavah Villas Making Coral While the Sun Shines

In an initiative to conserve corals and protect precious marine life, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas has initiated a novel Coral Adoption Programme that is hoped to increase coral growth too. One of the leading Maldives resorts, this Green Globe certified resort can be found on the island known as Kihavah Huravalhi and has developed this long term plan to conserve corals. As part of the programme guests are educated on the importance of corals and the vital role it plays in maintaining the balance of the marine ecosystem. The waters surrounding the island are rich in marine life including a wide range of tropical fish that are dependent on corals as well. With this Coral Adoption Programme, guests are given a chance to “adopt” a coral frame which is used in the process of restoring coral and helping in their regeneration.
