Khaleej Times, a leading newspaper in Dubai recently published an article with options on budget holiday destinations to head to for the long weekend which fell from November 30th to December 2nd. Sri Lanka was listed as the first destination on the article with particular mentions given to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Gregory Lake, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and the Golden Temple of Dambulla to name a few. In addition, readers were also informed that the island is a destination packed with everything from forts, caves, wildlife, heritage and beaches.
Beach enthusiasts were given options such as Nilaveli, Trincomalee, Negombo and Bentota. Resort and hotel accommodation are abundant on the island and visitors have plenty to choose from; from budget B&Bs to those such as AVANI Bentota Resort & Spa.
