A religious holiday in Maldives, Bodu Eid was celebrated on 12th August this year. Also known as Eid ul Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice, this event is important to Muslims and is observed around the world. This period also coincides with the time that the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, also known as Hajj, comes to an end. There are many traditions observed during this time including colourful festivities that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Those holidaying at a Maldives resort during this time including the likes of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort can look to visit local islands where such traditions or observed. Some resorts also plan celebrations of their own along with traditional activities, offering guests a chance to fully appreciate Bodu Eid festivities.
