Business Events Australia, a specialist unit of Tourism Australia, recently made several announcements regarding its added support to the nation’s business events sector; this was highlighted on the official website of Tourism Australia on 15th April 2021. As part of its new plans, it will offer a further $3 million to support the Bid Fund Program to help cover confirmed bids and new pledges for an added 12 months. It’s also offering an additional $1 million worth of funding through its Boost Programme.
In May this year, as reported on the Australian Leisure website, the Victorian government mirrored this support; to aid Victoria’s Business Events Programme, they announced an investment of AUD 42.9 million for four years to help the state acquire business events. Victoria continues to be a key hub for business events with the needed infrastructure and facilities in place; this includes offering CBD hotels near Marvel Stadium in the capital the likes of Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel that are ideal for corporate travellers.
