Abu Dhabi Tops List for Its COVID-19 Response – Malaffi Online Platform Also Initiated

Abu Dhabi garnered the top spot on a list of 25 cities in the world that were ranked according to their response to the COVID-19 pandemic; this was highlighted on 6th April 2021 on the Gulf News website, reporting on the list published by the Deep Knowledge Group, an analytics consortium based in London. Abu Dhabi came in ahead of Seoul and Sydney and such destinations were judged on various aspects including healthcare management, efficient health quarantine systems and vaccination rates.

Also worth noting as mentioned on the Khaleej Times website on 20th May 2021, is that Abu Dhabi has the first Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform in the region. Named Malaffi, this platform features a database of COVID-19 test results with centralised patient information linked to electronic medical records. Looking to boost tourism too, the emirate continues to offer safe holiday experiences be it city exploration or desert adventures at properties such as Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in the Liwa Desert.
