Experience tradition, lights, and culture in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown
Singapore’s Chinatown is preparing to dazzle visitors with the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, running from September 18 to October 20, 2025. Known for celebrating the annual harvest and family reunions, this festival blends cultural heritage with vibrant festivities.
The Official Street Light-Up and Opening Ceremony will take place on September 18 at 6:00 PM at Kreta Ayer Square, themed “60 Glorious Years: Celebrating Mid-Autumn in Singapore.” Expect illuminated streets, artistic murals, and interactive displays across Chinatown, including Upper Cross Street, New Bridge Road, South Bridge Road, and Eu Tong Sen Street. Highlights include glowing moon palaces, intricate lanterns, and the iconic Chang (The Lady in the Moon) display.
Visitors can enjoy fairs at Chinatown Point and People’s Park Square, lantern competitions, tea appreciation sessions, and a Lantern Adoption Programme promoting sustainability.
For a convenient stay close to all the action, Hotel 81 Chinatown, a preferred and stylish Chinatown hotel in Singapore, offers easy access and comfort for festival-goers.
