China Faces a Surge in Online Travel Searches with Quarantine Requirements and Mobile App Changes

China is witnessing a surging boom in the travel industry inquiries following the ease of its travel restrictions to the country, inclusive of areas like Xiamen. Best hotel deals will soon be accessible to travellers that make reservations at hotels like Pan Pacific Xiamen, with an increase in tourist arrivals in the future. As posted on the 29th of June 2022, Reuters reported that since Beijing announced the slash of COVID-19 quarantine requirements, the search for local and international flights to China has been evidently rising.

Air ticket searches have surged up by 60% while it has doubled for hotels. The growth in searches was however not only due to the quarantine requirement changes but also a result of changes that were made to a mobile app that could track people who travelled to COVID-19-affected areas or cities in China.
