China Grants Georgia Visa-Free Travel – Landmark Agreement Facilitates Easier Movement Between Nations

China and Georgia have declared a visa-free travel agreement, effective from 10 April 2024, permitting citizens to enter, exit, or transit without a visa. Valid Georgian and Chinese ordinary passport holders can now stay for up to 30 days per visit, with a maximum cumulative stay of 90 days within a 180-day period. This agreement mirrors similar arrangements China has with Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan, reflecting a broader trend towards enhanced international mobility.

Travellers between China and Georgia can take advantage of convenient air connections, such as weekly flights from Beijing operated by Azerbaijan Airlines and Air Astana, and from Guangzhou to Tbilisi via China Southern Airlines. The increasing ease of travel and affordable flight prices are expected to boost tourism and business exchanges. For those seeking longer stays, Hangzhou shared living options such as lyf Mid-Town Hangzhou provide a modern and flexible living arrangement in China’s thriving cities.
