Chinese Tourists Are Back Travelling – Thailand Witnesses Significant Increase

Following the easing of outbound travel restrictions in China earlier this year, Chinese travelers have made a welcome return to the global tourism industry. While numbers are yet to reach pre-COVID levels, the slow but steady increase has given nations, especially in Asia cause to be optimistic. Amongst these is Thailand which has emerged as one of the most popular for tourists from China. According to Reuters, which was quoting a government official, from January this year to mid-May, the country welcomed one million Chinese travelers.

It was further revealed that by the year’s end, Thailand is targeting to record five million tourists from China who will spend approximately $13.18 billion which will provide a significant boost to the local economy. While this number is less than the 11 million visitors from China in 2019, it does bode well for the future and the number is expected to increase year after year. Such travellers have much to look forward to as well now that they can freely visit Thailand and key destinations like its capital where they can stay at a hotel in Bangkok city center; these include well-placed properties for urban nomads such as Jono Bangkok Asok where they can experience the best of the city once more.
