Cinnamon Colomboscope 2016 – Exhibition Exploring Art in the Digital Era

The 2016 installment of the Cinnamon Colomboscape took place at the atmospheric General Post Office in Colombo. Organised by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts , a prominent hotel chain amongst Sri Lanka hotels in collaboration with EUNIC Sri Lanka, the showcase was held from the 25th of August to the 1st of September with many art lovers and artists from around the country and the global stage attending the event.

The exhibition title “Testing Grounds: Art and Digital Cultures in South Asia and Europe” befit many of the digital art pieces on show at the colonial structure which served as the venue for the event although both contemporary artworks and creations belonging to other disciplines were also allotted gallery space at the showcase. The brainchild of art curator Susanne Jaschko the 2016 edition of Cinnamon Colomboscape saw an impressive line up of more than 50 local and international artists take part in this year’s exhibition which also included other conjunctive events including performances, experimental works of film and an online exhibition.
