Cinnamon Red to Mark 1st Year Anniversary – ‘Red Rave’ Comes to Town

In a unique celebration of its first year anniversary, Cinnamon Red in Colombo hosted what it called a ‘Red Rave’ which was a competition focusing on art and design submitted by talented local artistes. The first Colombo city hotel to operate under the ‘lean luxury’ concept, Cinnamon Red gave lucky winners not just the chance to walk away with a cash prize and an overnight stay at the hotel, but to also have their works featured in the property itself as well as the car park driveways. Apart from painted art works, the competition encompassed other mediums as well such as sculptures, designs and even 3D art all of which ideally had to have an element which is very much a part of the hotel’s identity; the colour red. Initially though only five winners were to be selected, due to the overwhelming response which saw 61 complete entries being submitted, a total of 10 winning creations were chosen.
