Clans on the Coast Celtic Festival 2015 – A celebration of community

The annual Clans on the Coast Celtic Festival 2015 was held on the 19th of September at the Tomaree Sporting Complex, Nelson Bay with a significant turnout. Festivalgoers were treated to a spectacle of events including traditional dancing, highland games, a strongman competition, musical items, games for kids and a range of stalls featuring a wide variety of Celtic goods for sale. The festival is a celebration of Australia’s Celtic community and welcomes people of all communities to join in the festivities as well as get an insight into Celtic culture and traditions.
Hot on the heels of this year’s success, the Clans on the Coast Celtic Festival 2016 is already in the works, with a tentative date set for the 17th of September 2016. Travellers from out of town looking to catch the celebrations next year might want to stay a couple of days in one of the many great Nelson Bay hotels and check out the quaint beauty of the town. A recommended choice of accommodation is the Oaks Lure, providing family friendly serviced apartments that ideally located for attending the festival and exploring Nelsons Bay and Port Stephens.
