Held on the exotic island of Bali, the 9th annual Bali International Film Festival, known as BALINALE, concluded on the 30th of September this year. Over the years, BALINALE has seen the participation of award winning filmmakers recognized by Oscar®, Emmy®, BAFTA® and Cannes, which has helped make the occasion a celebrated global event. The week-long event was held this year at Lippo Mall, which is about 30 minutes from the Samaja Villas Kunti, one of the premier villas in Seminyak, and featured a number of workshops, film forums and seminars.
Winners this year included Teddy Soeriaatmadja for Best Indonesian Feature with “About A Woman (2014)”, Richard Todd for Best Documentary with “Frackman (2015)”, and Alfonso Gomez-Rejon for Best Overall Film with “Me And Earl And The Dying Girl (2015)”.
