An ideal holiday destination, Mozambique is among the countries around the world that have eased COVID-19 entry restrictions making it easier to visit once more. After an update to the regulations last year, arriving tourists only need to show proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 or a negative result of a PCR test taken within 72 hours of embarkation; those without either will have to take a rapid antigen test at their own expense once they arrive in Mozambique. Resorts can be found here that have implemented strict health and hygiene protocols too such as Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort which additionally offers secluded getaways away from the crowds. Travellers need to keep in mind however, that entry protocols are subject to change and should always check for updates before they travel.
To further encourage visitors, the country officially launched an e-Visa digital platform (evisa.gov.mz) in December last year that offers pre-approval of certain visa types. It provides an ideal alternative for needing to physically submit application documents while offering diverse visa options; these include visas for tourism, business, investment, humanitarian assistance and more which can now be applied for directly through the website.
