Culinary Tourism on the Horizon for Sri Lanka – Attracting Tourists with Culinary Excellence!

President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed his thoughts on how Sri Lanka should utilise its culinary excellence to attract high-end tourists to the island and launch new promotional campaigns to further enhance the initiative. The President announced this at the Bocuse d’Or 2023 competition that was held at Waters Edge. The new tourist plan will be called “Visit Sri Lanka” and aims to bring 5 million tourists to Sri Lanka.

The island was able to raise its arrival target to 2 million in 2023 and welcomed 748,377 tourists by the 23rd of July. Hotels and resorts in Sri Lanka can make great use of the culinary tourism initiative to showcase their cuisines and gain more business. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is a popular hotel chain that has some of the best places to stay in Sri Lanka offering excellent choices of food and beverages.
