Dawoodi Bohra Event Sri Lanka 2019 – Boosting Sri Lankan tourism again

The first major international convention after the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka was held in September. ‘Ashara Mubaraka’ is the annual global gathering of Dawoodi Bohras, which is a 10-day spiritual convention. Sri Lanka saw a number of 21,000 devout Bohras from 40 countries travel to the island to be a part of this event – where their spiritual leader was also present.

This event was initiated by the Tourism Development Ministry and the Bohra community. With expected revenue of $31 million, TRI-ZEN and other apartments which make living in Colombo much easier came in handy for those looking for accommodation options. 3000 rooms in 100 hotels and almost 200 apartments were booked during this time.
