Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2015 – Taking up the Challenge

An event that not only gives participants a chance to engage in a challenging race, but also help in supporting a social cause, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2015 is scheduled to take place on 12th June. Commencing at 1600 hrs, the race will begin at the Raalhugandu surf area in the capital Male and finish at the same location as well. Visitors interested in catching the race can consider staying at a Maldives resort such as Velassaru Maldives and making their way to Male.

The country’s largest annual run, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race was inaugurated in 2007 and features both a 10 km and a 5 km competition. While the 10 km run will have both an open men’s and women’s category, the 5 km race has additional categories for those above 45 years and for school children above and below 13 years. A key feature of the event is that it will also help in a social cause with this year’s focus being on protecting children.
