In March this year, the Qatari capital hosted SWIMCON International Conference 2023 which provided key insights as well as the chance for attendees to gain recognised accreditation for teaching swimming. The event which ran from 3rd to 5th March 2023 was hosted at the American School of Doha within easy reach of some of the best hotels in Qatar; these included properties by the coast such as Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli which makes an ideal base for leisure and business travelers alike.
The keynote presenters for the SWIMCON International Conference 2023 in Doha were Gary Toner, Simon Watkins, and Joanne Efendi; following a welcome get-together on the evening of the first day, the event featured workshops and courses on the two subsequent days. Apart from the Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) Course, Swim Australia’s Teacher of Competitive Swimming (SAT CS) and Teacher of Babies & Toddlers (SAT B&T) courses were on offer. There was also a Talent Coaching accreditation course as well as a Technical Official workshop and a Coaching Open Water workshop.
