Drama, Theatre and Opera lovers have only a few more days left to get a chance to enjoy their favourite theatrical performances and many other forms of dance as the 2015 Fine Plays Drama Festival currently running in Chengdu that began on 29 August comes to an at the end of November. The performances are held at She Says International Theatre, Southwest Theatre and many other popular venues. This year’s performances included theatre, drama, dance drama with recent national award-winning plays and those with wide social influence such as the opera “Osmonathus Flowers Blossom in Autumn”, Kun Opera “Romance of the Western Bower” and the famous dance drama “Confucius”.
In order to give prominence to local theatrical traditions, the festival also brought forth operas like “Red Poppies” – a Sichuan classic from Chengdu and “Fallen Plum Flowers” – a popular Beijing Opera adapted from the famous novel “Family” by acclaimed Chinese writer Ba Jin.
