It is no secret that Dubai is almost famous for its opulence, and the excessive spending habits of the city’s elite are world-renowned. It seems however that the city’s popularity as a shopping destination is growing at an exponential rate. According to the latest report by Xpandretail, the rate that visitors to malls have increased is remarkable, with Emaar Malls reporting an increase of a million visitors from 2015 to 2016, and Al-Futtaim indicating that their visitors increased by 7-million during the same year gap.
Such an increase in mall-traffic would mean good news to a range of other entities as well, especially luxury hotels such as Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, maybe in the future we could expect a Dubai hotel offer specifically geared towards international shoppers.
