Dubai is confident that it has what it takes to become the world’s first smart city within the next ten years. They will be focusing on a few key areas and have already launched projects pertaining to them. A project titled Oyoon, or “eyes” in Arabic, is to be launched next year and will use tens of thousands of surveillance cameras to create a database to track criminals using artificial intelligence or AI.
Dubai also believes they can put traffic jams firmly in the past with the introduction of flying taxis. A construction of a Hyperloop has been scheduled to begin this year. Culture-wise plans to open a museum which offers visitors a glimpse into 2035 are already in place. All these projects are bound to lead to an increase in tourism at Dubai luxury resorts with properties such Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort among the accommodation options available to visitors.
