Dubai takes the next step with its awareness campaigns as the emirate now targets a market with very high potential, Africa! Recently, the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET) reached out to African celebrities to visit the metropolis and experience it first-hand. DET got down a famous Kenyan idol Bahati and investment banker and singer-songwriter Thabsie from South Africa to kick off their summer campaign.

These celebrities were treated to exceptional luxuries like stays at Anantara World Islands Dubai, a very popular Dubai resort and a whole week of touring and discovering the ultra-modern city. Clicks by the celebrities uploaded on their social media piqued the interest of their fans making holidays in Dubai the hottest topic among followers of Thabsie and Bahati.  The city’s awareness campaigns such as this one have brought massive success for its tourism sector with Dubai being ranked the Number One Destination in the world on Trip Advisor for the 2nd time in a row.
