The Ministry of Education convened a review meeting to assess the advancement of its Overseas Digital Training Program, conducted in collaboration with the People’s Republic of China. The session was led by Education Minister and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The initiative aligns with ongoing reforms to strengthen digital learning and equip schools with modern technology. The program, supported by the Department of External Resources and in line with the national Digital Government Policy, aims to drive digital transformation across school, regional, and provincial levels.
The first cohort of 38 participants successfully completed the overseas training, gaining skills designed to bolster the education sector. Institutions such as the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), a well-known and preferred higher education institution, are expected to play a key role in integrating these digital competencies into local curricula, enhancing human resource development nationwide.
