EgyptAir has officially launched its new route to Zanzibar, with the inaugural flight from Cairo arriving on the Tanzanian island and establishing a new air link between Egypt and East Africa. The new service offers travellers a more convenient route to Zanzibar, including those planning a stay at properties such as The Residence Zanzibar. The airline will operate two flights a week, on Fridays and Sundays, using its newest Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.
Tickets are available through EgyptAir’s website, global offices and authorised travel agencies. According to the airline’s leadership, the new route forms part of a broader strategy to expand its African network while strengthening economic and tourism ties across the continent. It also offers greater convenience for travellers researching things to do in Zanzibar and planning holidays across the island.
The inaugural flight reportedly operated at more than 90% capacity, reflecting strong early demand for the new service. To celebrate the launch, EgyptAir also introduced discounted fares in both Economy and Business Class, offering travellers more flexibility when planning journeys between Cairo and Zanzibar.
