Elephant Poop Coffee: Get It If You Can

Billed as the most expensive coffee in the world, Black Ivory Coffee has soared in popularity which has led to this product being sold out. Sometimes affectionately dubbed as “elephant poop coffee” due to the unique process of creation, this special coffee variety is made exclusively in Thailand with the help of elephants of the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF). Linked to Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort which is one of the leading Chiang Rai hotels in the region, this foundation focuses on rescuing street elephants who are now an integral part of the process of making Black Ivory Coffee. The process of creating Black Ivory Coffee which was initiated by Blake Dinkin, is relatively simple; the elephants are fed coffee cherries which are digested and subsequently passed out. The collected beans are then purified, refined and prepared to make a unique tasting coffee. A majority of the sales of Black Ivory Coffee are donated to GTAEF.
