Emirates Receives Recognition with Maldives President’s Tourism Gold Award

The largest international airline in the world, Emirates, was recently bestowed with the “President’s Tourism Gold Award” in the Maldives due to the key role it plays in the local tourism industry. This honour was bestowed to the airline during a gala ceremony held on 3rd October 2022 as part of the nation’s tourism-related golden jubilee celebrations to mark National Tourism Day. The Emirates was recognised for its “Outstanding Contributions to the Development of Tourism in the Maldives” putting the spotlight on its 35 years of service to this tropical destination.

This airline also played a vital role in kick-starting tourism here following the pandemic and continues to offer convenient connections to the capital, Male. From here, travellers can head to diverse accommodation providers on private islands including the best resorts in Maldives for couples such as the adults-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili in the Male Atoll.
