Entry Requirements Further Eased in Thailand – Tourist Visa Exemptions Also Offered

As part of its systematic reopening of international borders, Thailand has been easing its entry protocols for tourists making it easier to visit. The previously mandatory registration for the ‘Thailand Pass’ programme before arrival as well as the minimum requirement of a US$10,000 health insurance coverage have been done away with. Additionally, from 1st July 2022, arriving tourists need to only show proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination for an RT-PCR or professional ATK negative test result within 72 hours of embarkation.

In an added boost to the local tourism industry, Thailand has extended the stay period for tourists with effect from 1 October 2022 until 31st March 2023; those from territories or nations entitled to visa exemption can now stay up to 45 days, while travellers eligible for visa on arrival can enjoy holidays of up to 30 days. These initiatives have been put in place to encourage more tourists as the country gets ready for the high season ahead. Such travellers have plenty to look forward to including safe accommodation at a luxury hotel Phuket has to offer on Bangtao Beach; properties here like SAii Laguna Phuket have stringent health and hygiene measures in place while providing guests with the best experiences of this popular island destination.
