The Fairway Galle Literary Festival 2016 was a much- anticipated event, and it did not fail to impress as all aspects of literary genius were celebrated. The festival also had a wider reach this year, as Kandy, Galle and Jaffna got a taste of “literary goodness.” Returning after a few years, the festival was held between the 8th and the 24th of January and featured a diverse array of international and local authors. The organizers of the event also included a children’s segment. Children from all walks of life attended the event and found and explored their creative streak. A beach hotel in Sri Lanka that was and would continue to be a hotspot for all Galle Literary Festival fans is Heritance Ahungalla. Many who appreciate literature, culture and the arts hope that the Galle Literary Festival will be an annual literary event that promises “more than big names.”
