Feast of the Assumption of Mary–A Must-Attend Annual Religious and Cultural Festival at La Digue

Every year, on the 15th of August the Feast of the Assumption of Mary takes place at the church of La Digue. This is one of the most popular religious festivals in Seychelles and locals from all across the islands travel to La Digue in time for the festivities. The Feast of the Assumption of Mary is a Roman Catholic religious festival which is considered one of the must-attend events in Seychells. The festivities include religious processions taking place on the day before the festival and on the day itself, blessings, mass and exciting cultural activities that everyone can take part in. The Seychelles Tourism Board is highly involved in the planning of this festival.
