FIA’s Restructuring Receives Rare Unified Support from Formula 1 Teams for Future Development

The FIA, Formula 1’s governing body, has undergone a restructuring to prepare for the sport’s future, receiving unified support from teams. Mohammed Ben Sulayem has stepped back from day-to-day F1 matters, allowing Nikolas Tombazis to take on the role of single-seater director. Steve Nielsen has also transitioned to a different set of responsibilities within the FIA. The governing body has made these changes to keep pace with the complexities of the sport, which now includes financial regulations in addition to technical and sporting aspects. With new regulations set for 2026, the FIA aims to create the right structure and personnel to oversee future developments. The restructuring was well-received during a productive meeting of the F1 Commission in February. Meanwhile, the famous Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is set to take place in November 2023. Travellers looking for a luxury resort in Abu Dhabi can opt for the lavish Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort when the spectacular event takes place.
