Film Tourism Could Become a Reality in Bali – Balinale Film Festival This Month Too

On 9th July 20021, at the Cannes Film Festival, it was revealed that United Media Asia, a Southeast Asian content producer and financier, had entered a strategic partnership with the Hollywood-based Creative Artists Agency; as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the plan is to construct a large production facility in Bali for TV and film.

Apart from providing numerous local employment opportunities, this move will also help the island promote film tourism at locations used for films and TV shows shot here. This can not only include sun-kissed beaches, but lush inland landscapes too where travelers can stay at an eco-resort Bali has to offer such as Nirjhara. In related news, the Bali International Film Festival, called “Berlinale”, is set to take place from 18th to 21st November 2021; this year’s edition will be a mix of in-person and virtual events and will showcase diverse feature and short films as well as documentaries from both local and foreign filmmakers.
